In preparation for his upcoming journey, Hashem Asad is seeking valuable experience in the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Final 8, as he gears up for a significant milestone. The young talent from Kuwait Club is set to depart for the United States next month after committing to play for NCAA D1 institution, Georgetown University. At the age of 18, having celebrated his birthday in April, Asad had the option to join UMass Boston but ultimately decided to become a Hoya. He was enticed by Georgetown's commitment to both athletics and academics, making it the best choice for him. "The coaching staff at Georgetown is exceptional, and I was impressed by their emphasis on combining basketball and academics," shared Asad, who previously attended the American School of Kuwait. Joining one of NCAA's most successful basketball programs is a dream come true for the aspiring D1 player. "Since childhood, it has always been my aspiration," expressed Asad, the son of former Kazma player Maitham Asad. "To see my dreams come to fruition at this stage of my life is an incredible feeling."
