HONORS: Georgetown’s Jahvon Blair Named All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention

Blair averaged 15.9 ppg (6th in conference), lead team with 54 made 3PT and 81 assists

Senior guard for the Georgetown Hoyas, Jahvon Blair, was named to the All-BIG EAST Honorable mention list.

The BIG EAST issued a press release, saying:

All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention includes three seniors: Denzel Mahoney of Creighton, Jahvon Blair of Georgetown and Jermaine Samuels of Villanova. Mahoney was second in scoring for Creighton, averaging 13.5 points and 4.2 rebounds. Blair, a 6-4 senior guard, leads Georgetown in scoring with a 15.9-point average. Samuels, a 6-7 senior, has been a clutch performer for Villanova. He averages 11.4 points and 6.3 rebounds.

Jahvon Blair Named All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men’s basketball senior Jahvon Blair has been selected All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention as announced by the league office on Sunday afternoon. The accolade recognizes his efforts during the 2020-21 season.

JAHVON BLAIR

  • Blair leads a quartet of Hoyas scoring in double figures with 15.9 ppg, which ranks sixth in the BIG EAST Conference.
  • He leads the team with 54 made 3-pointers this season and his 81 assists is a squad best.
  • With 2.7 triples per game, the senior is second in the league.
  • In conference action, his 4.0 assists per game was good enough for seventh in the BE.
  • He was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on November 30.
  • It is the second league postseason honor of his career as he was named to the 2018 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team.

The Hoyas have earned the eight seed and will face the ninth-seeded Marquette University Golden Eagles in the first round of the 2021 BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Tournament Presented by Jeep on Wednesday, March 10.
