This is the first Georgetown recruit nominated for such honor since Greg Monroe in 1992. Ok it’s 2008, but it’s felt much longer.
Aminu, playing for Greenwood in Missouri, is the the No. 19 player in the Class of 2021, according to 247Sports.
According to the Springfield News-Leader, “Mohammed recently became Springfield’s all-time leading scorer” in fewer than three full seasons with “more than 2,612 points over the course of his career.”

Earlier in February, Eric Bossi of 247Sports wrote, “The Hoyas 2021 recruiting haul ranks No. 11 nationally according to the 247Sports Composite team ranking and while Ryan Mutombo, Jordan Riley, Tyler Beard and Jalin Billingsley are each capable of helping out as freshman, it is Mohammed who is the jewel of the class.”
Hoyas fans know all about how special this incoming class is, especially Aminu. It’s just great that the fine people at McDonald’s recognize his talents, as well.
Congratulations, Aminu!
