How long will this last?
CBS has speculated that in addition to postponing tonight’s game it could also push back at least the first two games of what was supposed to be a three-game road-trip. Georgetown (3-8, 1-5) was to play their first game against Providence this season on Saturday and then conclude the season series with Marquette on Wed. Jan. 20.

Its expected that the team’s next three scheduled games will be postponed. Tonight vs. DePaul is definitely off, in addition to expected postponements Saturday vs. Providence and Jan. 20 vs. Marquette.
DePaul (1-4, 0-4) has played the fewest games in the Big East conference to date. The Blue Demons, who had made their way from Chicago to DC, are reportedly looking for a non-conference opponent before they host Butler on Tuesday.

While many BIG EAST programs have already paused at one point or another for covid this season, Georgetown joins No. 3 Villanova as the current league schools on pause.
The Wildcats announced a pause on Dec. 27 and haven’t played since winning at Marquette on Dec. 23. They have had three games postponed and will have a fourth - at UConn on Friday - also postponed for a future date.
We wish everyone the best of health within the Hoyas program as they deal with this serious issue.
We will provide updates as information comes available so stay tuned.
