Georgetown’s all-time greatest player and current coach, Patrick Ewing, will celebrate his 58th Birthday on Wednesday!

Ewing is heading into his fourth season as the Hoyas head man and is doing so in style having just recently picked up two Top 150 commitments. Georgetown’s 2021 recruiting class currently ranks in the Top 20 nationally which would be his best haul since taking over the program that he led to three Final Fours and the 1984 National Title.

From the it-doesn’t-even-seem-possible department, Ewing is now older (58) than when his coach - the legendary John Thompson Jr - resigned in the middle of the 1998-99 season at the age of 57.

Of course Ewing is proving that age is nothing but a number as he was a new man on the sidelines during the 2019-20 campaign. An off-season focus on fitness had Georgetown’s 2nd all-time leading scorer looking as though he could still run up and down the court if needed. That would of course be bad news for opposing players everywhere as the Jamaican native was one of the greatest of all-time no matter the level- high school, college, pros, and internationally.

Everyone at Casual Hoya wishes Coach Ewing nothing but health and happiness as he continues to work hard with his staff and players on their quest to bring the Hoyas another National Championship!
