Coach Patrick Ewing has been quite chatty with the media this week and surprised fans of the Georgetown Hoyas with news of Mac McClung, Omer Yurtseven, and Jamorko Pickett.
Big News: In a @CBBONFOX interview with @TheAndyKatz today, Patrick Ewing says Mac McClung plans to return to Georgetown for his junior season. #Hoyas

Hopefully, in this interview with Andy Katz, Ewing didn’t let the cat out of the bag for Mac McClung, but it’s great news for Hoyas fans.
Then again, there’s this from Mac’s agent:
Contrary to the recent reports, @mcclungmac has NOT notified anyone in Georgetown that he is withdrawing from the 2020 NBA draft or returning to Georgetown for the 2020- 21season. Mac has received great feedback thus far from NBA teams.

Fun!
Ewing also confirmed that Omer Yurtseven is staying in the NBA Draft. Yurtseven has issued a couple of “thank you” posts and seems to have made his mind up. Ewing is confident with Qudus Wahab and Timothy Ighoefe at center.
Also, somewhat surprising was the revelation that Jamorko Pickett had declared for the draft. The mercurial Pickett has always had the size and shown glimmers of ability to perform at the next level, but had not been mentioned as “testing the waters” previously. It’s a smart move for the rising senior.
Patrick Ewing also appeared on the Dan Patrick show today, but failed to get beyond questions about Michael Jordan and the Dream Team. It’s certainly worth a listen—like many of the Dream Team players, Ewing is a gifted story teller.
UPDATE:
Mac McClung’s agent tweeted the following denials:
Contrary to the recent reports, @mcclungmac has NOT notified anyone in Georgetown that he is withdrawing from the 2020 NBA draft or returning to Georgetown for the 2020- 21season. Mac has received great feedback thus far from NBA teams.

@mcclungmac has drawn a lot of NBA interest with his efficiency in P&R offense and defense ranking him 93rd & 97th percentile in the nation.
