The Georgetown Hoyas are off until Saturday and if you’re like me, you’ve listened to Kente Korner, you’ve re-read Bobby’s insights and the view from the student section, celebrated Blair, as well as relived Muresan’s exorcism of the Blue Demons a couple dozen times. Perhaps you’re like Ewing, as well, and taking some time to (re-)familiarize yourself with some of the many recruits.
Here are some links and tweets about Ewing’s recent recruiting efforts.

Moussa Cisse “ UK basketball and football recruiting news | ukrecruiting.bloginky.com
Cisse is a native of Guinea and played high school ball in the New York City area before moving to Memphis ahead of his junior year of high school. John Calipari visited and extended a scholarship offer shortly after that, making Cisse one of the first players from the 2021 class to receive that honor from Kentucky.
His top-10 ranking nationally is well-deserved. The athletic frontcourt prospect was one of only four players to average a double-double during the Nike regular season in 2019, and he was also second in the league in blocked shots...

According to 247Sports, Kentucky, Maryland, Villanova and Georgetown are among the eight colleges with interest in the sophomore. Georgetown coach and New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing was in attendance at the event.

Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe (2020 F, Canada)
Cowboys Among Three Schools to Land 2020 Wing | Maven
Moncrieffe appears to be down to three schools. He’s taken three of his five official visits, Oklahoma State, Georgetown and Seton Hall... “I’m going down the checklist of each school right now,” Moncrieffe said. “We’re going deep into it; just looking at the synergy, the stats, how their style fits with my style and everything.”
Moncrieffe is a 6-7, 195-pound forward out of Orangeville Prep in Ontario, Canada, is a four-star prospect in the 2020 class...
“We’re really taking our time and weighing things out right now,” Moncrieffe said. “I’ve had three great visits so now I need to clear my head and really figure things out. I have great people around me to help me so I feel like we’ll know more soon.”
“We did this date specifically, it gives me a good chance to see both the coaching staffs and stuff like that but I’m a Hoya fan tonight...” -Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe, ranked the No. 14 small forward in 2020...https://t.co/UxnCy6MajS

Efton Reid (2021, C)
At one point last night against Peninsula Catholic Efton Reid blocked 3 straight shots on the same defensive series! There is no questioning the seven foot junior’s discipline, agility, quick elevation, athleticism and shot blocking skills.

Paolo Banchero (6’9” top talent)
(Recent update saying “no change” in his list; Ewing visited Seattle in September)
"As far as his recruitment, he was down to Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Duke, Georgetown, Baylor, Washington, Gonzaga, and Memphis." https://t.co/G6kciG1f0k
— Casual Hoya (@CasualHoya) February 11, 2020
This summer, I said Paolo Banchero is arguably the best player in the 2021 class, the Top-Five forward is living up to that having an outstanding season at O’Dea. His most recent stat line from last night: 33 points and 18 rebounds.
Double-doubles have been the norm for Banchero this season, here’s what he had to say on his season: “I been playing well, been trying to play the right way and stay aggressive. We looking to turn it up in the playoffs.”
“No reclass. Staying in 2021.”

— Paolo (Paul-Oh) (@Pp_doesit) September 13, 2019
Banchero led his team with 38 points and 12 rebounds. Senior Nic Welp led Prep with 17 points.
“We had some lapses where we over played or we jumped and they threw over us and that’s where (Banchero) got a lot of his points, just off of dunks,” said Welp, a 6-foot-8 post of matching up with the 6-10 Banchero. “But we did better than we thought we would against them.”
