The BIG EAST schedule will continue to be flexible as several programs have had to pause activities due to concerns with COVID-19.
With UConn unable to travel and participate on Sunday, it looks like the Georgetown Hoyas have found a new opponent in the St. John’s Red Storm.

Yesterday, Bobby Bancroft and the Casual Hoya team contemplated whether another BIG EAST team might replace UConn in wake of their positive tests. Sure enough, another team will be traveling to McDonough.
Could Georgetown and No. 9 Villanova play a back-to-back coming up?

The Johnnies are 5-1 with wins over Boston College and Rider. St. John’s has had games against Texas Tech and Sacred Heart canceled. It appears SJU’s game with UConn on Friday caused a schedule shuffle with Seton Hall and their Monday game with Butler was cancelled due to COVID tests.
As of right now, Georgetown would still visit St. John’s on Sunday, December 20th.
Georgetown and other BIG EAST schools likely have semester finals next week, so another game added for GU seems doubtful at this point. St. John’s is scheduled to host Creighton on Thursday, December 17.
Still, for Georgetown, that makes the Sunday 12/13 game the first half of a week-long-back-to-back-home-and-away.

Press Release from Red Storm Sports
QUEENS, N.Y. – Originally scheduled to travel to Butler for its second BIG EAST contest of the season, the St. John’s men’s basketball team will now head to McDonough Gymnasium for a meeting with Georgetown on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
The schedule change came about due to COVID issues within the Butler program. Georgetown had been scheduled to play Connecticut, which paused team activities on Sunday.
This marks the second schedule change in as many BIG EAST games for St. John’s. The Red Storm was originally slated to meet UConn on Friday before the Huskies’ aforementioned stoppage resulted in the Johnnies traveling to Seton Hall instead.
Georgetown is scheduled to make the return trip to Carnesecca Arena just one week later on Dec. 20.
Sunday’s game will air live nationally on FS1. A radio assignment has yet to be determined.
