Georgetown guard Jalen Harris taking leave of absence

Ewing said the grad transfer will miss Sunday’s game for family reasons

Rafael Suanes / Georgetown Athletics

On Friday Georgetown coach Patrick Ewing announced that grad transfer guard Jalen Harris will be taking a leave of absence for family reasons and will miss Sunday’s game at St. John’s.

Harris missed the Hoyas win over St. John’s on Dec 13 with back spasms but had started the first five games of the season at point guard for the Hoyas.

The former Arkansas and New Mexico veteran leads the team with 5.2 assists per game in nearly 28 minutes per contest. Harris also added 4.8 points per game and had 17 turnovers.

Freshman Dante Harris filled in for Jalen last week and earned Big East Freshman of the Week Honors in scoring 22 points in 43 minutes.

We all wish Jalen and his family the best during this time.
