Rafael Suanes/Georgetown Athletics

Your Fighting Hoyas of Georgetown host the St. John’s Red Storm to finish out a season-opening six-game homestand at the world famous McDonough Arena!

Game 6: St. John’s (5-2, 0-1) at Georgetown Hoyas (2-3, 0-1)

When: Sunday, 7:30 PM

Where: McDonough Arena

Series: Georgetown trails 56-60

Last meeting: St. John’s knocked out Georgetown in the first round of the 2020 Big East Tournament

TV: FS1 (Steve Buchhantz & Donny Marshall)

Radio: 106.7 The Fan (Rich Chvotkin, 47th season)

KenPom Ranking: St. John’s 86, Georgetown 97

KenPom Projection: Georgetown 77, St. John’s 76, (82 percent)

Line: Georgetown -1, o/u 153.5

Bobby’s Keys to the Game:

  1. Limit St. John’s open 3-pointers: It sounds obvious but it’s actually a thing this team needs to really improve on. Allowing teams to shoot 40 3-pointers a game isn’t going to result in many conference wins.
  2. Limit Bad Turnovers. Although it didn’t result in a win, Georgetown cut down on turnovers from the Coppin State win to the Villanova loss. The next step is limiting the kind of live ball turnovers that turn into easy scores.

Prediction: St. John’s 81, Georgetown 77. Just like Georgetown I’m 2-3 with the upset loss to Navy.
