Georgetown Defeats NPBA Select 112-67 to Continue Foreign Tour
NASSAU, Bahamas – The Georgetown University men’s basketball team continued its winning ways on the 2019 Bahamas Foreign Tour with a 112-67 victory over NPBA Select at the Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium in Nassau. It was the second of a three-game schedule for the Hoyas and GU has eclipsed the 100-point mark in both contests.
- Four Hoyas were in double figures with Jahvon Blair (Brampton, Ontario / Athlete Institute Prep) and Mac McClung (Gate City, Va. / Gate City) leading the way with 21 points apiece followed by James Akinjo (Oakland, Calif. / Salesian College Preparatory) and Myron Gardner (Detroit, Mich. / SPIRE Institute [Ohio]) adding 14 and 12, respectively.
- Omer Yurtseven (Istanbul, Turkey / Fenerbahce Baseketbol Subesi / NC State) led the Hoyas grabbing seven rebounds while Josh LeBlanc (New Orleans, La. / Madison Prep Academy) pulled down six. The Hoyas controlled the glass, outrebounding their opponents 53-39.
- Akinjo paced the offense with eight assists as the team recorded 26 on 41 made field goals.
- The Blue & Gray put 13 in the scoring column and all but three scored at least a pair of buckets.
The Hoyas return to action on Thursday, August 15 for their final game in the Bahamas. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p .m. and a subscription-based web broadcast will be available through FloSports.
