Georgetown Announces 2018-19 Nonconference Schedule

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men’s basketball team announced its nonconference schedule today for the 2018-19 season. The Hoyas 13-game nonconference schedule will include nine games at Capital One Arena, two road games and two games at the Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

”We are very excited for the upcoming season,” Head Coach Patrick Ewing said. ”I am obviously looking forward to taking my team to my home country of Jamaica and going back to Syracuse will undoubtedly bring back many memories for me.”

The season opener takes place on Tuesday, November 6 against University of Maryland Eastern Shore at Capital One Arena. Georgetown will remain at home to host Central Connecticut on November 10.

The team’s first road game takes place on November 13 when they face Illinois as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The Hoyas will then travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica for the Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic from November 16-18. They will open the tournament against Loyola Marymount, followed by South Florida.

Georgetown returns home for three games to face Campbell (November 24), Richmond (November 28) and Liberty (December 3).

The team then heads north for the Syracuse rivalry game at the Carrier Dome on December 9.

The nonconference schedule will conclude with a four-game homestand against Southern Methodist University on December 9, followed by games against Appalachian State (December 18), University of Alabama Little Rock (December 22) and Howard on December 29.

Tipoff times and broadcast information for nonconference games will be announced later, as will the BIG EAST schedule.
