Highlights: Marcus Derrickson Impresses in NBA Summer League

NCAA Basketball: Big East Conference Tournament Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Georgetown forward Marcus Derrickson has been a bright spot for the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors in the NBA Summer League, scoring a team-high 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the Warriors win over the Lakers yesterday.

Full highlights below:

Derrickson, who went undrafted in the NBA Draft, has some Warriors fans thinking that he could make the team as a bottom of the roster player.

Comments from Golden State of Mind:

I thought he was awesome; a man among boys! I found myself glued to his every move, with, or, without the ball. Guy can really play! Solid 2-way, with 3pt range and strong finisher.

His line: 25 minutes, 24 points, 8-19 (4-7 3pt!), 11 rebs (4offensive), 4 steals, 1 block, 1 TO!

Loved the way he set picks, boxed-out on rebs on defensive end, great passing and shooting touch.

Where did this guy come from! (Georgetown, 16 pts, 8 rebs)

Gonna keep an eye on this 6’7” 250lbs muscled TNT! I was veery, very, impressed! If keeps this up, we need to find at least a 2-way slot for him!

His stated goal was to lose 20 lbs, and be able to guard the wing.

He might be getting close. He definitely looks a little more agile and spry to me then from the college videos I saw.

If that’s the case he has a chance to be a real player. He knows how to play, has really good hands and that is a wet looking jumper.

Looked good in his highlights

Definitely a prettier jump shot than Draymond. Hope he gets some run.

I hope he gets a two-way

Maybe finish up the roster by signing McCaw, Pachulia and Nunn, and then signing Omot and Derrickson to two-way deals.
