Our future-Hoyas will play together for TEAM ELITE on May 5th!

If you’re checking CasualHoya.com every damn day this off-season then you might as well just admit that Georgetown Basketball is life. Of course everyone is collectively holding their breaths while waiting for Casual’s world-famous Kentucky Derby preview, but it’s worth noting and sharing some details on another event scheduled circa post time (at 6:34 p.m. EDT) this weekend.

The folks behind some of the jamiest mixtapes, BALLISLIFE, seem to agree on the life choices our fellow fans may have with regard to the high values we’ve put on Georgetown’s incoming guards. BALLISLIFE has made headliners out of Northern California's favorite son and 4-Star Class of ‘18 Commit PG James Akinjo and global internet superstar Mac McClung for the 2018 BALLISLIFE ALL-AMERICAN GAME!

Let’s get right to the details... yes, the game going to be live-streamed from Norwalk, Calif. on 5/5/2018:

@2.00pm PST Doors open

@3.00pm PST 3pt contest Presented By Eastbay will be Streamed on YouTube.

@3.30pm PST Dunk Contest will be Streamed on YouTube.

@4.15pm PST The Ballislife All-American Game Presented By Eastbay will be streamed on Facebook.com, YouTube.com, Twitter.com and DailyMotion.com.

You got dunks, three-pointers, and a game on Saturday—all streamed! (And the word is that there are scrimmages on Friday)

The team announcement speaks very highly of both Akinjo and Mac:

...The two most recent Cal-Hi Sports NorCal Players of the Year are also scheduled to participate. Undecided Jordan Brown (Prolific Prep, Napa, Calif.) led Woodcreek (Roseville, Calif.) to the NorCal championship and earned top billing in the region in 2017 while 2018 honoree, point guard James Akinjo (Salesian, Richmond, Calif.), recently signed to play for Georgetown coach and NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing.

Another headliner in this year’s game will join Akinjo at Georgetown – high-scoring guard Mac McClung. One of the most viral players in the country, known best for his high-flying dunks, McClung led Gate City (Va.) to the Virginia High School League Division 2 state title and broke the VHSL single-season scoring record of NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson (948 points), as well as the career scoring mark. McClung finished his senior season with 1,153 points (38.4 ppg), and 2,801 for his career.

Perhaps most importantly, Akinjo and Mac will be on the same team when playing at Cerritos College (Calif.) for the BIL AA Game . (For more info and ticket information, see ballislifeallamerican.com)

Can you picture the no-look alley-oops in your mind? Here’s an example from Akinjo at the 2017 Peach Jam that got things really rolling for both him and Coach Ewing...

Also check out James Akinjo’s CaliHoop mixtape, SimplyBasketball mixtape, a mixtape from last year’s Las Vegas Classic and some game highlights from 2017’s NorCal Clash, and start to connect the dots on these two sharing some huge plays... as early as Cinco de Mayo!

James Akinjo has already been a part of a couple all-star type games, including the Bay Area vs. Sacramento game in early April, where he hit the game-tying shot...

..and was named defensive player of the game.

Well, just take a look at some of his training...

You gotta love that so many people are talking about how hard he works.

This will be the 8th BILAAG as they are on a mission to “select[] the most deserving players regardless of geography, mainstream player rankings, or shoe affiliation.” Last year’s game appears to be high-quality video and featured declared NBA-Draft prospects in Alabama’s Collin Sexton (27 points) and UNLV’s Brandon McCoy (30 points) as co-MVPs.

Much of the BALLISLIFE roster looks familiar from the Iverson Classic, including Villan*va’s Jahvon Quinerly, LSU’s Jahvonte Smart, Shaq’s son Shareef O’Neal, and Brandon Williams who intends to announce his school decision this Saturday at the BIL game.

Of course, you can find THE GLOBAL PHENOMENON’s extensive coverage of Mac McClung in the Iverson Classic HERE, HERE and HERE, among other posts. Not widely reported prior, there is the 7-minute Iverson Classic: THE MOVIE on SLAM.

Let’s call it #MacMonday @macmcclung37 showed OUT all weekend! #IversonClassic

Keep checking back for news, highlights, and if anyone seriously asks in the comments about where this game will be streamed, I will need some ... Ballislife support.
