4-Star Class of 2018 point guard and Arlington, Va. native Xavier Johnson has committed to Nebraska over Georgetown.
Been a long journey and it was all worth it! pic.twitter.com/TWLDi1kdCI

Johnson averaged 10.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists last season at Bishop O’Connell High in the D.C.-area Catholic League. During summer AAU play, he led local power Team Takeover to a title over the Oakland Soldiers.
The failed recruitment of local product Johnson raises more question marks about Georgetown’s local recruiting ability, especially with regard to point guards.
If you lose a local kid to Nebraska (gross) to a coach on thin ice just because you weren't proactive. Lol.

Plus size, plus athlete. Defends. It was a no brainer. Start repairing things locally.

Instead he goes to a bad program with a lame duck coach. It's really something.

If when Pat was hired we were told: Kirby re-hire, old Louie Orr, the least accomplished of 3 holdover possibilities + Ronnie and his buddy-

A new hire should not create this much angst (clear of a scandal) before the ball is tipped. Maybe it's just me.

I still don't doubt Patrick. I do doubt those around him. They are not good enough. He'll realize that, I think.

You've either got to try to uncover someone in the spring or go grad transfer route (again) for a guard. Not ideal. At all.
— Nolan (@NationWideNolan) September 26, 2017
You can do that with bigs, you can't do it with guards. Stable programs get theirs early and build.
