Per multiple reports, 4-Star Class of 2017 power forward Jamarko Pickett has committed to Georgetown. Pickett, who received his release from Ole Miss earlier this month, committed to Georgetown over Maryland.
Four-star 2017 prospect Jamorko Pickett verbally committed to Georgetown on Friday, according to Massanutten Military Academy coach Chad Myers.
"He picked them because he felt like he could go in there and contribute immediately," Myers told Scout. "Playing time along with location was the determining the factor for him.
Pickett is originally from the D.C. area and was only considering the Hoyas and Terrapins.
This past season, Pickett drew rave reviews at Massanutten, while averaging 21 points, eight rebounds and two blocks a game
"Jamorko is a versatile wing that can score at all three levels and can guard multiple positions," Myers told Scout. "He has a major upside and could be special as he continues to get stronger."
The recruitment of Pickett had some extra spice to it as former Hoyas assistant Kevin Broadus was doing the heavy lifting for Maryland.
Jamarko Pickett is a substantial late addition for Patrick Ewing. Local product who is long, smooth, & has a high ceiling.
