Class of 2017 4-star forward Jamorko Pickett is visiting Georgetown today, per multiple sources. The 6’7” Pickett recently received his release from Ole Miss.
Pickett, Scout's No. 52 overall prospect and No. 8 power forward in the 2018 class, is originally from the D.C. area and is only considering the Hoyas and Terrapins.
This past season, Pickett drew rave reviews at Massanutten, while averaging 21 points, eight rebounds and two blocks a game
"Jamorko is a versatile wing that can score at all three levels and can guard multiple positions," Myers told Scout. "He has a major upside and could be special as he continues to get stronger."
Pickett would be a huge late addition for either program. Georgetown currently has a pair of pledges -- Antwan Walker and Chris Sodom. The Terps have commitments from top 100 recruits Bruno Fernando and Darryl Morrell.
The recruitment of Pickett has some extra spice to it as former Hoyas assistant Kevin Broadus is doing the heavy lifting for Maryland. Should Pickett choose the Terps over the Hoyas, Broadus will likely smile and we will all feel bad.
Please don’t do that to us, Jamorko. We need you and we love you.
