The most pivotal stretch of Patrick Ewing’s tenure is set to begin on July 12th as the evaluation period of July gets underway.

The live recruiting dates are as follows:

July 12-16

July 19-23

July 26-30

For the major shoe companies: Adidas events will be held in Spartanburg, SC from July 12th-15th and Las Vegas from the 26th-30th. Under Armour will be in Atlanta from the 12th-15th and Nike will be in North Augusta, SC for the Peach Jam from the 12th-15th. There are also events like the Fab 48 in Las Vegas from the 26th-30th that will attract the attention of high major programs. A full list of certified events can be found here: https://web3.ncaa.org/bbcs/publishedEvents

The biggest difference from the spring evaluation period is that we know now the full and complete staff that Georgetown will have on the road. Patrick Ewing, Louis Orr, Robert Kirby and Akbar Waheed.

For Ewing and company, the spring period was a time to watch and evaluate who may be worth a scholarship offer and monitoring going forward. The summer session will provide more clarity on who top targets are with fall and official visit season approaching - which is also the time you look for commitments. The 2018 and 2019 classes are of great importance for Ewing and this month is critical.

Here’s a list of all the new offers that have been handed out by the staff to public knowledge:

2018:

Jimmy Nichols

Jermaine Harris

Jaelin Llewellyn

Josh Leblanc

Jaedon Lee

Saddiq Bey

Kobe Brown

Solomon Uyaelunmo

Vernon Carey

Xavier Johnson

Mac McClung

Kyler Edwards

Grayson Carter

Jules Bernard

2019:

Kofi Cockburn

Eric Dixon

Kobe Brown

Chol Marial

Makhel Mitchell

Makhi Mitchell

Armando Bacot

Keion Brooks

Josh Nickelberry

2020:

Earl Timberlake

It can be assumed that there are a handful of prospects who have offers on the table that carried over from the prior staff. Best assumptions being: Moses Brown (‘19), David McCormack (‘18), Isaiah Stewart (‘19) and Keldon Johnson (‘18).

Other players without documented offers who have visited campus include; Miles Oliver (‘18), Chris Efretuei (re-classifying to ‘18?), Jason Murphy (‘19), Jared Rhoden (‘18), Jerry Iliya (‘20), Jonathan Aku (‘20), and Roy Eze (‘20).

Among offered prospects, we know that the following have been on campus within the past few months: Bey, Harris, Timberlake, Mahki and Mahkel Mitchell, Llewellyn, McClung, and G. Carter.

Now is the time for Ewing & Co to put the heat on and make serious headway with their targets. You can bet that they will be following Team Loaded (VA) closely as they possess; McClung, Llewellyn, Kiyon Boyd, Bacot, and McCormack. DC Premier should be followed closely as well as they have the pairing of Harris and Bey. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out - this is a new staff that people have reasonable concern over - it’s time for it to get to work.
