Patrick Ewing joined Jon Rothstein on his College Hoops Today podcast in what is a pretty good interview. The key takeaway from Ewing is the following quote:
“Rome wasn’t built in a day. We need size. We need shooting. We need athleticism. We need everything right now.”
Though that isn’t going to be the most comforting news to Hoyas fans on the Delusion Train, at least it shows that Ewing is aware of the current roster’s deficiencies and is out there working to fix it. For me, that’s a refreshing take from the one we used to hear out of JT3, where everything was always roses and unicorns and guys with middling talent were hyped to be difference makers ahead of the season.
On the recruiting front, no news on Tremont Waters, though talented grad transfers Mark Alstork and Trey Dickerson are set to visit the Hilltop this weekend. Getting both in the fold would obviously go a long way in improving the team’s outlook next season, so hopefully Ewing can close the deal this weekend.
In addition, Princeton grad transfer Hans Brase is said to to considering the Hoyas:
Princeton grad transfer Hans Brase has cut his list to Richmond, Nebraska, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, and Iowa State, per a source.

Brase has had an injury-riddled career with the Tigers, but averaged finished his most recent full season (2014-15) ranked ninth in the Ivy League in scoring, fourth in rebounding and eighth in three-pointers made per game.
