Syracuse at Georgetown Set for December 16th

Some schedule news on this casual Thursday, as your Fighting Hoyas of Georgetown will face the hated Orange of Syracuse on Saturday, December 16th.

Per Syracuse.com:

The game is tentatively scheduled for a noon tip-off, according to the source.

This year's game will mark the debut of former Georgetown great Patrick Ewing in his first year as the Hoyas head coach. Ewing, formerly an assistant with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, was hired to replaced John Thompson III, who was let go after 13 seasons as head coach.

The game is the third in a four-game series that was scheduled after Syracuse's departure from the Big East to the ACC following the 2012-13 season.

The game will mark the 93rd meeting between the two schools. Syracuse leads the all-time series 49-43, but the Hoyas have won the last two games.

Georgetown beat Syracuse 79-72 at the Verizon Center two years ago when Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim was serving a nine-game NCAA suspension.

Last year, the Hoyas knocked off the Orange 78-71 at the Carrier Dome.

Saturday afternoon game against the Orange?

See you at Verizon.
