Mark your calendars, people- the traitors are coming to town. As first reported by Mike Waters of syracuse.com, the two schools have set a date for the third installment of their non-conference home-and-home series. Georgetown will face off against the Orange on Saturday, December 16th at the Verizon Center. Tip is tenatively scheduled for Noon ET, though timing will not be confirmed until closer to the season.

No better way to prepare for the intensity of Big East play than to dust off an old rivalry! One imagines that Coach Ewing has some personal anecdotes to put the matchup in perspective for his players.

This will be Jim Boeheim’s first game against the Hoyas at the Phone Booth since that 61-39 farewell drubbing back in 2013; the fans should be sure to make him feel welcome. Since Syracuse left for the ACC, how have things gone when the two schools faced off? Pretty well, if you happen to be a Georgetown fan.

The game will mark the 93rd meeting between the two schools. Syracuse leads the all-time series 49-43, but the Hoyas have won the last two games.

Georgetown beat Syracuse 79-72 at the Verizon Center two years ago when Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim was serving a nine-game NCAA suspension.

Last year, the Hoyas knocked off the Orange 78-71 at the Carrier Dome.

Basketball season is still half a year away, so you may now continue the endless speculation about recruits and assistant coaches.
