Sleeping with the Enemy: The Bulldogs of Alabama A&M

New, 3 comments

Georgetown plays its last non-conference game before Big East play on Saturday vs. the Alabama A&M Bulldogs of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Here for a quick preview of them is Steven J. Gaither of HBCU Gameday. You can also follow him on Twitter here.

Alabama A&M! Tell us something interesting about the school itself.

Famous alumni range from Robert Mathis to American Idol winner Ruben Studdard.

How have the Bulldogs done so far this season? Do they have any shot in the SWAC?

AAMU is 0-12. Which isn't so bad considering four other teams are winless in the conference. Texas Southern, also...you guessed it, winless...is the favorite.

Which player or players on Alabama A&M are worth looking out for?

Evan Wiley is shooting better than 45 percent from 3-point range.

What do you think of Georgetown so far? Has Patrick Ewing impressed you in his early going as Hoyas coach?

He's perfect against HBCUs, so that's in his favor. Back in the 80s some young kids thought Georgetown was an HBCU because of the team and his coach, John Thompson, Sr.

This week, LaVar Ball announced his intent to start a new basketball league as an alternative to college. How much potential do you see in that?

I like the idea. The cream of the crop is exploited by the NCAA for the most part, so no tears for them. Just hope kids make the best decision for themselves and not others.

We've had a lot of fuss on our blog about Christmas songs. So go ahead & rank your top three here. Please elaborate as needed.

This Christmas: Can't go wrong with this one, whether Donny Hathaway or Chris Brown.

Give Love On Christmas Day: Lotta great versions of this but give me Johnny Gill (A DC guy, btw).

Winter Wonderland: Timeless

What's the most interesting article or book you've read recently?

Been reading a lot of business stuff lately, so nothing really sexy. Sorry, I have no life outside Gameday.

When it comes to strong opinions about mundane things, what's the pettiest or most trivial hill you're willing to die on?

College Hoops 2k8 is the greatest college basketball video game of all-time.

Final score prediction?
