This is already a few days old, but it’s too good not to talk about. Courtesy of our resident film room guru, alleninxis (@NationWideNolan on Twitter), comes a wondrous video of just awful defense. Let’s just say that Mike Hopkins is not having success implementing the vaunted Syracuse 2-3 zone defense at Washington.
The Hopkins 2-3 zone implementation is going great at UW, guys. pic.twitter.com/xXCpj130wX

I mean, where do we even begin? The 57-28 scoreline in the first half? The fresh 3-2 look that Hopkins has given the 2-3 zone? The possession ending in the literal opposite of the goal of a 2-3 zone? It’s incredible.
Apologies to these poor UW players. I don’t intend or want to drag them here. They’re good kids and we wish them well (and I, for one, hope they get to stop playing that damn zone soon). I have no ill will towards Washington and really, can’t really even muster all that much distaste for Mike Hopkins either. But, he’s Syracuse-for-life-by-association so he’s fair game when his implementation of a overrated and crappy defense results in highlights this perfect for Georgetown fans.
(NOTE FOR WHEN GEORGETOWN LOSES TO SYRACUSE IN DECEMBER: This is still hilarious.)
