Huge recruiting win for John Thompson III and the staff as 4-star Class of ‘17 point guard Tremont Waters has committed to Georgetown. Waters chose Georgetown over Indiana, Kansas, Duke, and Kentucky among others.
Waters, who attended Hoya Madness last Friday, is currently ranked as the 32nd best player in the entire 2017 class and represents the highest ranked recruit to commit to Georgetown since Isaac Copeland committed in 2014 when he was ranked 37th in the country. Waters’ commitment is also further evidence that JT3 is going to deliver on his promise to reveal a more up-tempo and guard-friendly offense, as Waters is the highest ranked point guard to commit to the program since Chris Wright back in 2007.
Waters is also the first commitment in the Class of 2017 for Georgetown, which just two weeks ago formally dedicated the Thompson Center, the impressive new on-campus athletics facility. Will Waters’ commitment open the floodgates for others?
If you build it, he will come.
Welcome to the Hilltop, Tremont Waters!
