Georgetown Athletics to Hold "Saxa, Paper, Scissors" Promotion Before Xavier Game

WASHINGTON  – Fans looking to attend the Georgetown University men’s basketball game against Xavier on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Verizon Center will have a unique way to enter the arena as part of the athletic department’s "Saxa, Paper, Scissors" promotion.

Prior to the Georgetown-Xavier game on Tuesday night at 7 p.m., the first 100 fans in line at the F Street Box Office at Verizon Center will be able to take on Jack the Bulldog in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. If the fan beats Jack, they will receive a free ticket to the game. If the fan loses, they will have to purchase their ticket at the regular ticket price.

Jack will take on all challengers beginning at 6 p.m. at the box office.

Rock, Paper, Scissors is a hand game played between two people, where players simultaneously form one of three shapes with an outstretched hand. The rock beats scissors, the scissors beat paper and the paper beats rock. If both players throw the same shape, the game is replayed.

Georgetown enters Tuesday night’s game with a 14-5 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the BIG EAST following a 95-85 overtime win at Marquette on Saturday.  The Hoyas have won four-straight games and six of the last seven overall.
