The Georgetown Hoyas held its annual Hoops Banquet last night and while the speeches from the coaches and players were riveting as always, a few tidbits of news emerged:
First, the Hoyas will be travelling to Italy next summer. This will be Georgetown's first international trip since the infamous China voyage in 2011.
Second, word is that 6'6" forward Anthony "TJ" Duckett may be walking on to the team next season. Duckett is a local product out of St. Anselm's in DC and you can see some highlights of him here.
Finally, Class of 2014 center/forward Trey Mourning was on campus yesterday. Mourning has also received offers from Florida and Duke, but both been active on the transfer market for big men, with Florida closing in on former Michigan forward Jon Horford and Duke receiving a commitment from Rice transfer center Sean Obi. Mourning to Georgetown appears imminent.
