Georgetown Women's Soccer earns NCAA Tournament bid

For the third straight year, the Georgetown women's soccer team is headed to the NCAA Tournament. They play at West Virginia on Saturday.

On Sunday the Georgetown women's soccer team lost a tough Big East Tournament Championship game to the top-seeded and undefeated DePaul Blue Demons, 2-0. On Monday, the Hoyas were selected as one of the 33 at-large teams in the NCAA Tournament.

"I'm very happy for the team," Head Coach Dave Nolan said. "The quality of our soccer over the course of the season was good and it's very rewarding to have the season continue. We'll have our hands full as West Virginia is a great team, but it speaks well to the young women on this team that they have a chance to continue to play."

The Hoyas will face the Mountaineers at 4 PM ET on Saturday in Morgantown and the winner will play the winner of Dayton and Virginia Tech.

In playing West Virginia, the Hoyas will meet not only a former BIG EAST Conference member, but a team they played earlier this season. GU visited Morgantown and played to a 1-1 double overtime draw in September.
