Hoya Madness Recap and Highlights

The Georgetown Hoyas tipped-off college basketball season last night at Midnight Hoya Madness. There was a dunk contest, player intros, and a concert from Trey Songz. And a whole host of recruits were in the house to take it all in. Basketball season is here you guys.

The 2014-15 Georgetown Hoyas basketball season got underway at McDonough Arena with the annual Hoya Madness event. There wasn't a stream of the event, but thanks to some folks in attendance like friend of the blog Michael Bohlin (@mbohlin247) of Hoyas247.com (@hoyas247), @georgetownhoops@georgetownhoyas, and others we have some pretty great highlights.

GUHoyas.com has a full write-up of the event and a great photo gallery.

Thanks to Michael, we have full highlights of the player intros.

James Lacey has full video of the dunk contest.

Isaac Copeland won the dunk contest with this (pretty nasty) dunk. I think we might like these freshman.

Aaron Bowen was the runner-up (he missed all his attempts in the final), but he, uh, can still dunk.

The new t-shirt slogan was announced.

This picture of JTIII's intro is fantastic.

Trey Songz performed.

And then met Big Coach Thompson.

And then took a photo with the whole team.

All in all, it seems like this year's Hoya Madness was pretty great for those in attendance (especially and importantly the number of recruits that were in the house). Let's get this season started.
