As we know by now, the Hoyas will be playing in the 2013 Puerto Rico Tipoff in November, and Coach Thompson has expressed a desire to see a lot of Hoya fans in Puerto Rico. Regardless of whether you can make the tournament yourself, please help spread the word and encourage your Hoya friends to make the trip. Further details regarding the tournament, travel options and ticket packages are set forth below.
Game Dates/Times and Potential Events
The tournament games will be played on Thursday, November 21, Friday, November 22 and Sunday, November 24. Please note that this is the week before Thanksgiving. Georgetown's first game is Thursday at 1 p.m. vs. Northeastern. Our other game times and opponents are TBD (but, we know the Hoyas will play in one game on each day listed above). To view the tournament bracket, please visit here.
Hoyas Unlimited and the Georgetown Club of Puerto Rico will be planning events in coordination with the Hoya Hoop Club, so there will be plenty of opportunities to meet up with friends and family around the games and time on the beach. That's right, time on the beach!
Tickets and Travel Packages
Tickets and travel packages are now on sale. Hoya fans can either: (1) book their trip through Anthony Travel, which is offering packages that include tickets to all games, hotel accommodations, transportation to/from the arena, and admission to an exclusive welcome reception; or (2) make their own travel plans and purchase tickets directly from Georgetown Athletics. For more information on tickets, travel packages and the tournament, please visit http://WeAreGeorgetown.com/puerto-rico.
Please note that all tickets (whether purchased through Georgetown Athletics or through Anthony Travel as part of a travel package) will be general admission and all tickets will provide admission to all tournament games. There is no difference between tickets purchased through Georgetown Athletics and the tickets included in the travel package. Fans can therefore choose the travel option that best suits their needs without having to worry about seat location.
Fan Hotel
Georgetown fans are encouraged to stay at the Conrad Condado Plaza Hotel (a Tropical Escape where the convenience and comfort of a modern hotel meets the magic of island life!), the official hotel of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off. This is the hotel included as part of the full travel package. For more information on the hotel, please visit http://WeAreGeorgetown.com/puerto-rico.
Let's Go Hoyas!
