Georgetown to Play in 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis

Rumored for months but finally confirmed, your Georgetown Hoyas will travel to the Bahamas next Thanksgiving to play in a loaded field in the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis.

WASHINGTON   - The Georgetown University men's basketball team will be among eight teams spending next Thanksgiving in Atlantis as part of the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis, which announced its field for next year on Tuesday morning.

Georgetown will be joined by North Carolina, UCLA, Florida, Butler, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

The 12-game tournament will be held the week of Thanksgiving, November 26-28, 2014.  The eight-team field boasts backgrounds that include a combined 195 NCAA Tournament appearances, as well as 53 Final Four Appearances and 20 National Championships.

The Battle 4 Atlantis will be shown live on the ESPN networks from Atlantis' Imperial Arena.  The half-million dollar temporary arena boasts state-of-the-art regulation facilities at the epicenter of the world's largest open-air marine habitat complete with lavish guest accommodations, restaurants, bars, spa, lounges, waterslides and the largest casino in The Bahamas.
