Peanut Gallery: Seton Hall Pirates vs. Georgetown Hoyas

What some Hoyas are thinkin' about the Hoyas.

View from the DJ Booth - A Musical Perspective from lordnick:

Um. Yeah, maybe in retrospect I should have thought this band selection through a bit more. But come on! How does Louisville lose three in a row? Well, I'm not terribly familiar with the Cranberries' catalog beyond what I heard on the radio during high school. So this is going to get real strange, real fast. Until then, this one's a gem! Jesus, music videos in the 1990's were strange.

View from the Student Section - A Youthful Perspective from Campus:

I'm gonna be straight, tonight scares the shit out of me. Last Monday was awesome, Saturday was awesome, but Seton Hall is definitely spelled T-R-A-P. I'm still having PTSD flashbacks of the absolute beatdown these guys put on us last year. After two emotional wins, I would not be surprised in the least to see this team put up a 40-point stinker. We SHOULD win this game, but I am absolutely terrified of a South Florida repeat. We have a stretch of a few games against relatively bad teams coming up, so I expect this team to keep up the high level of play. That being said, I will once again be bringing the Casual Swag to the Student Section this evening in hopes that the presence of a gray headband on my forehead will continue to bring the team luck. Come early, be loud, wear gray. Hoya Saxa!

Wow...I REALLY overdid it in DC this past weekend. I mean, really. I probably could have cut out the last 3 stops on the celebration express. I am not going to recap the game or my antics. I don't feel the need to slobber all over Saturday's game or performance. All of you clowns that post here did enough to last until the team lives up to it reputation of playing to it's competition tonight.

Speaking of tonight, I refuse to pull back the Oh SHIT level, at this point. I have seen nothing that would indicate this team has any sort of identity. There still is a huge gaping hole in the middle and everyone outside of #22 has been pretty inconsistent. Having said that, I REALLY hope that this team takes care of business tonight and on Saturday. My body isn't ready to take on any alcohol yet.

Nervous Level: OH SHIT!

View from the Sports Book
- An Unbiased Perspective from Vegas:

The Line: Georgetown -7.5

This line opened at Hoyas -8.5 and was quickly pounded to -7.5 based on the resounding belief in Vegas that the Hoyas won't be able to cover an 8 point spread in Conference play. To that I say HEY VEGAS, YOU'RE PROBABLY RIGHT! However, I think this team has found itself over the course of the past week and the Pirates don't really present any matchup problems that they can exploit (read: no decent center). Note that if this game were being played in Jersey I'd roll with the Hall straight up.

The pick is Georgetown -7.5. Final score Hoyas 66 - Hall 56.

Casual Hoya is 9-5 ATS this season.
Overall 65-39-1.
