Class of 2013 Small Forward Stephen Domingo Commits to Georgetown

Class of 2013 small forward Stephen Domingo (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) has committed to Georgetown over Stanford, Washington and UCLA.

Domingo, a sweet-shooting 4-star recruit and the 19th ranked small forward in the 2013 class, has drawn comparisons to former Hoya Hollis Thompson, also a native of California.

Per this ESPN Insider article, Domingo's visits to campus solidified his decision:

"It's a really difficult decision," said Domingo, who visited the Hoyas' campus twice in the last year. "The part about leaving home isn't as difficult but the part where you know where your parents won't be there. That's tough but I know the school has my back and that's what I felt with Georgetown.

"It was probably on my visit during winter break. I sat down with the staff and they explained to me the ways I could use their system. I went to a game, sat courtside and I could see myself in their system," said Domingo, who shot 39 percent from 3-point range last year. "With my shooting ability, they put defenses in a position where I'll get a shot or it's easy to get a shot coming up or getting a back-door cut. They'll make my shooting ability easy to play out of and they have a great tradition with NBA guys."

Domingo is the first Georgetown commit in the Class of 2013 and, as it stands now, has received Georgetown's final available scholarship.

Welcome to the Georgetown family, Stephen Domingo.
