Wow, what a weekend of Georgetown sports action. Despite falling to Indiana on Sunday, I am incredibly proud of our men's soccer team. My boy Keon Parsa got some national recognition on Friday night and we beat those trolls from North DC, which was AWESOME. I really wish I hadn't spent the early part of my Saturday afternoon trying to keep my eyes from bleeding while watching the Abomination Pt. 2 against Towson and the Benimonster, but I'm glad we came out with a win. Now we get to focus back on just one sport with our much-anticipated showdown with Longwood (you may now make phallic jokes if you have not done so already). If Towson is bad, Longwood is worse. Hailing from the Big South (the home of recent foe Liberty), they've got 2 wins, one in overtime against national powerhouse Florida A&M, and the other against Central Pennsylvania College for the Deaf and Dumb. They've got offensive problems just like we do, shooting just 42% from the field, so this game has the potential to be another incredibly low-scoring affair. They gave up 112 points to Arkansas though, so maybe we've got hope to put up some decent numbers. I won't be at this one as I actually have to begin studying for finals sometime soon. I hope at least some students figure this game is more important than their GPA, though. There was some good Jerrelle heckling on Saturday so I can imagine the creative student body will come up with even better jeers for LONGWOOD (heh heh...long wood) Come early, be loud, wear gray. Hoya Saxa!

Good day everyone! I hope this little love note finds everyone enjoying this holiday season. It sure doesn't seem like our hoyas are enjoying it! Unless, of course, the team has implemented a 'MUST NOT SCORE MORE THAN 50 POINTS AT HOME RULE'. I must admit that I did not see one second of the game on Saturday. I am FINE with that. I am not FINE with holiday obligations. Saturday was a whirlwind of holiday nonsense that drove me to the brink of a meltdown. The only thing that was able to bring me back was the Hirsch 16 y.o. Bourbon that was being poured on Saturday night. It was smooth and relaxing.
Tonight we play the school that gave us Jason Mraz How unexciting?!?! Nerves? I don't have them. I really wished the game weren't on in the NY market, so I had an excuse not to watch this game.
Nervousness Level: YAWN!
View from the Sports Book - An Unbiased Perspective from Vegas:
The Line: OFF
No line means there is ZERO opportunity for us to feast on Vegas's stupidity in giving the Hoyas a healthy points cushion against a cupcake. The Hoyas are just 2-4 ATS but we are 5-1 because WE KNOW BETTER. The Hoyas will win this one by at least 20, but that doesn't do me any good because I won't be able to bathe in my winnings after the final buzzer. Instead, I'll just bathe in my usual lukewarm puddle of self-hatred and maybe watch some of Texans at Pats.
The pick is BORING.
Casual Hoya is 5-1 ATS this season.
Overall 60-36-1.
