Doug E. Fresh, the Human Beat Box and legend of hip hop, will perform at Georgetown's Midnight Madness on Friday night at McDonough Gymnasium. Fresh, whose career exploits in the 80's included the monster hits "The Show" and "La-Di-Da-Di" has recently re-emerged on the hip hop scene as a member of the Cali Swag Group, whose "Teach Me How To Dougie" has revolutionized America and littered YouTube with clips of famous people doing the Dougie from Wolf Blitzer to Michelle Obama to Glee to GLOBAL PHENOMENON Hall of Famer Kate Upton.
Midnight Madness has become a big deal at Georgetown since the Allen Iverson era, and in addition to the introductions of both the men's and women's teams, the event becomes somewhat of a dance party, with John Thompson III showing off his moves and celebrities like Jerry Rice joining the teams on the court for more group dancing fun. Interestingly, Fresh is a member of the Church of Scientology, so keep your eyes out for Tom Cruise and John Travolta at McDonough on Friday night as well!
In addition to the Madness festivities, Hoya Blue will be unveiling this year's "We Are Georgetown" t-shirt slogan. The winner will be selected among the below six finalists, the majority of which were chosen by you, the gifted and talented readers of this site:
Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die
