Our guys over at CollegeBasketballTalk have been doing a great job this month unveiling various lists and predictions on a daily basis leading up to the start of the 2012-2013 college basketball season. Today, we get a dose of the best dunkers in college hoops in a post that includes video and other awesomeness. Check it out HERE.
I'll go ahead and spoil it for you that no Georgetown player is included in the list, which should come as a surprise to no one.
In other news today we've got the big commitment announcement from the Harrison twins who will likely be a package deal to either Under Armour (Maryland) or John Calipari (Kentucky). Should the twins commit to Maryland, it could have a big impact on Georgetown's pursuit of 2013 point guard Roddy Peters. The recruitment of Peters has set off a DMV "Civil War" between Georgetown and Maryland and is certainly something that will pick up steam after the Harrison twins announce their plans this evening.
Peters, who is reportedly down to Georgetown, Maryland, UCLA and Xavier, has stated that the Harrisons committing to Maryland would not have an impact on his decision to attend Maryland. However, one would have to think that the prospect of playing behind two of the more highly touted recruits in recent memory would lead Peters elsewhere, and no doubt the staffs of the schools recruiting Peters have told him that clearly Maryland has made him a second priority.
Though Georgetown famously is one over the scholarship limit for 2013, room can and will be made for a player of Peters' talent, so we'll see what happens once the first dominoes begin to fall tonight.
