Roddy Peters, a Class of 2013 point guard from Suitland, Maryland will make his college announcement. According to InsideMDSports.com, Peters is set to announce Tuesday morning at 9 am.
Peters is the No. 1 remaining target for Mark Turgeon's 2013 recruiting class, and the Suitland guard has been the subject of a fierce battle between the Terps and Georgetown. Kansas, Rutgers, and Xavier are three other schools reportedly on his list, but the battle between John Thompson III and Turgeon has topped headlines in the DC area.
Peters has appeared to have been a Maryland lean for awhile and attended Maryland's first practice. According to Terrapin blog Testudo Times, Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon and assistant coach Dalonte Hill had an in-home visit with Peters on Monday night. It is unclear whether they watched any of the Monday Night Football game or discussed the fact that coach Hill has been arrested TWICE for suspicion of DUI, arrests that have led to his being suspended both at Kansas State and Maryland.
This week will be a busy one for recruiting, as Johnathan Williams III, a 6'8" power forward from Memphis and the 35th ranked player in ESPN's top 100 is set to announce on Thursday. Georgetown, Michigan State, Tennessee and Missouri are his final four.
