View from the Student Section - A Perspective from Campus:
Well boys and girls, this is a BIG one. 5 AM wake up call for this roadtrip. Let's not repeat our last performance when I was in MSG for a St. John's game in which we lost my freshman year in the BE Tourney. Let me be frank. This is not a good St. John's team. This team does not hold a candle to the one Lav had last year. Also, Lav isn't there... (best wishes for a speedy recovery though). The only thing that worries me is Moe Harkless (and to a lesser extent God's Gift). Both are forwards of a Kevin Jones offensive type, although neither rebounds the ball as well as Mr. Jones. That being said, the guard play of St. John's has been no bueno. This might be a game for Jason Clark and Markel Starks to find their rhythm once more. Please do not let depressed me be on TV for a second game straight (ESPN is a bunch of HDCs). Hoya Saxa.
View from the Court Side Seats - A Perspective from OldHoya:
A strong St. John's is a good thing for Georgetown. The best years of the Big East were dominated by Georgetown and St. John's, with Syracuse desperately trying to find a dance partner. That being said, to hell with the Redmen for the weekend, this is a must win game for Georgetown. OldHoya has had great times in MSG, and hopes that the Hoyas will too today.
View from the Enemy- A Perspective from our Sleeping With The Enemy Interview:
I think the Hoyas' height will be difficult on the Red Storm, and if G'Town doesn't turn the ball over, they have the game by 6-7.
JahidiLikesPie Nervous Level: | OH CRAP |
I am not quite sure what to say. I think we are still in a man defense and I think Kilpatrick just went by Whittington again. This team should not have lost that game. The loss caused me to enforce a ban all sites associated with GU Hoops.
Sunday's game has become this years version of what seems like an annual event for our Hoyas. Come one, come all to watch this year's version of the 'Stem The Bleeding' game. SJU can be frighteningly good or frighteningly bad and GU lets their hot hand go the entire 2nd half without drawing up plays to put him in a position to score. So frustrating!!! I can't say that I am really nervous about the game, but I am disgustingly nervous about the prospects of us losing the game (OH CRAP!). My last GU/SJU MSG experience was spent with JGD and BoatsnHoes watching a nice fat LOSS with the SJU students.
This will be my 2nd time @ MSG this week. I went to my first Rangers game on Tuesday and I abstained from beer and it was one of the most frustratingly depressing experiences of my life. Let me just say that no such behavior will be tolerated on Sunday. I plan on being at Stout early AND late and I plan on drinking like a goddamn VIKING. Hey, what better way to celebrate our most famous civil rights leader than by nursing a viking-like hangover?!?!
