The rollercoaster ride that has been Georgetown's recruitment of Class of 2012 star Kyle Anderson took an interesting turn today, as fellow Georgetown target Tony Parker said that he wants to play with both Kyle Anderson and the consensus #1 ranked player in the Class of 2012, Shabazz Muhammad, in college. Parker, a five star recruit and the 8th ranked center in the Class of 2012, recently added Georgetown to his list of schools.
As we have been following ad nauseam over the past few months, Georgetown has been one of five schools that Kyle Anderson is thought to be choosing from along with St. John's, Seton Hall, Florida, and UCLA. In addition to Georgetown, Tony Parker has Duke, Ohio State, Kentucky, Memphis and UCLA on his list. Realistically, Georgetown has a shot at both Parker and Anderson, but Muhammad seems destined for either UCLA or Kentucky. As such, if Parker wants his dream to come true, it would likely happen not at Georgetown but at UCLA, which has been recruiting Muhammad heavily and recently hired assistant Korey McCray whose priority has been to get Muhammad to Los Angeles.
Thankfully, the increasingly cloudy picture of where these three will end up will become much clearer on September 20th, when Kyle Anderson will announce he is coming to Georgetown or I will kill myself.
