The Wooden Award List of 50 candidates for college basketball's Player of the Year was announced today, and not a single player from your Georgetown Hoyas has been nominated for the award. However, ESPN's Andy Katz has listed a number of potential snubs from the list, and included among them is Hollis Thompson:
Hollis Thompson, Georgetown: If the Hoyas are to make the NCAA tournament again and be a pest in the upper half of the Big East, then Thompson needs a breakout season.
The List is by no means dispositive of who is eligible to win the Wooden Award at the end of the season, and Katz aptly points out that Notre Dame's Ben Hansbrough wasn't included on last season's list and went on the win Big East Player of the Year. Here's hoping that Hollis can pull off the same trick.
