WASHINGTON - The highlight of the First Annual Saxa Awards was a six-minute "We Are Georgetown" video that was shown to the crowd of nearly 300 Georgetown student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff gathered at the Leavey Center on Tuesday night.
The Saxa Awards event was a student-athlete formal - a first-time end-of-the-year event. It was an event created by Georgetown student-athletes with mentoring from Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Leadership and Performance Augie Maurelli.
The video was produced by student-athletes and it focuses on what Georgetown is about to the student-athletes and coaches featured.
At 6 minutes and 20 seconds it's probably about 3 minutes too long, but check it out for yourselves HERE.
In other news, I thought American Idol was terrible last night and is DOOMED without Simon Cowell next season.
