The pre-Thanksgiving stress level is boiling over. The study abroad roommate domino effect is in full effect, I just lost a flag football playoff game, and my physics notebook looks like hieroglyphics. I realize, however, that I have to stay casual and there is no better way to do that than by obsessing over Georgetown basketball. The noon start to this game is not really helpful because of the fact that I have a midterm at 1pm (thank you to whoever schedules Georgetown weekday games during what is essentially my morning, or I guess I should be more pissed at my professor for not checking the basketball schedule), but I will be watching up until the minute that I run over to the test.
The only thing that I know about Coastal Carolina is that their mascot is a Chanticleer and the only reason I know that is because of Google it (though I still don’t know what a Chanticleer is). I have come to realize, however, that losses to teams that you have never heard of is often more detrimental to the season than beating up on Duke. Bad memories. Need to win. Need to dominate.

Wow. Coastal Carolina? OldHoya's been around the block a few times and has seen plenty of directional state schools but a vague reference to the coast? That's a first.
Let's be honest - your intrepid writer has never even heard of Coastal Carolina. But OldHoya is well versed in working the interwebs and notes that the school's in Myrtle Beach. OldHoya has no problem with golf - so long as the beer cart's nearby and comes by often.
OldHoya enjoyed the win over Tulane and contrary to the naysayers saw some excellent basketball, particularly from Austin Freeman. Coastal is likely to be greatly outmatched in tomorrow's game and here's hoping for some of the freshmen to get minutes under their belts.

Casual Note: We didn't have a clue where to find a Coastal Carolina blogger but if we did, they would probably say that Georgetown is going to win.

The Line: Georgetown -15
Coastal Carolina is a plucky squad coming off a 16 point loss to the Bobby Cremins coached College of Charleston after two wins to start the season against vaunted programs Piedmont and LaGrange. Coastal led Charleston by 12 at the half and was outscored by a whopping 28 in the 2nd half while giving up 55 points. If the Hoyas can contain guard Desmond Holloway (18pts and 7 rebs per game), I have to think they can at least cover a 15 point margin in this one, with or without Julian Vaughn contributing a ton inside.
The pick is Georgetown -15. Final score Georgetown 74 - Coastal Carolina 56 (and frankly it shouldn't even be this close).
Casual Hoya is 2-0 ATS. Last season: 22-8 ATS.
