The Morning After: Post-Game Articles, Quotes and Pictures

Finally woke up after that thriller in Verizon yesterday.  Media didn't pay much attention to the Rutgers affair, but below is what was written.

The final margin was 25 points, but that was only because for the final three minutes of the game, Georgetown ran their reserves out onto the floor. Before that? The difference between the Hoyas and Rutgers was over 30 points for much of the second half.

Sophomore center Greg Monroe turned in a nearly flawless performance, finishing with 21 points on 10-for-12 shooting, grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out sixassists.

Georgetown had an excellent selective shooting performance in the Lift-off half [1/1 dunks, 10/13 layups and tip-ins, 1/5 2FG jumpers and 6/11 3FGs] while limiting the Scarlet Knights to only 10 2FGAs (5 made).  The Hoyas weren't rebounding particularly strongly in the half, but Rutgers could only turn their five offensive rebounds into 4 points.

Freshman Hollis Thompson had a Big East career-high with eight points, breaking a shooting slump over the last two games. Sophomore center Henry Sims (five points) and freshman guard Vee Sanford (two points) got into the scoring column for the first time in Big East play.
