View from the Student Section - A Perspective from Campus:
I will have to make it through my hangover from a house party last night to travel to Philly for the game. College is all about rallying. Hopefully our Hoyas will rally and overcome a very talented Wildcat team.
I do feel like we can beat anybody in the country. However, an away game against Villanova will test us. We passed with flying colors last year, so hopefully we will pull it out again. And, if we do, thank MLK for parties on a Sunday night and easing my transition to a second semester of Organic Chemistry with Dick Weiss (aptly named).
It's tough for me to hate Villanova so much since many of my friends who weren't smart enough to get into Georgetown currently go there. I mean, I hate the players and the coach, of course, but the student body isn't all that bad. When I went to Nova to visit some of my dumber friends, I was fortunate enough to suck face with one of the ladies at Nova, though I was ultimately disappointed since none of my dumber buddies would jump on her grenade friend. Oh, well. Meanwhile, a great trick is to text 'Haiti' to 90999 on all your friends phones when they go to use the bathroom so they unknowingly donate $10 to the cause. Good times all around, and everyone wins. Hoya Saxa!
View from the Court Side Seats - A Perspective from OldHoya:
There's no love lost on this game for OldHoya. It's simple - the Nova fans are his least favorite and have been for ages.
Even at courtside, where most would expect the discourse to be somewhat civil, OldHoya has put up with repeated Nova knuckleheads yelling and screaming and basically showing off their Philly roots. OldHoya gleams with joy when reflecting back on Nova's obnoxious chants against AI (as well as Billy Packer's moronic comments) that led to Iverson dominating the #6 ranked Nova in 1996 - dropping 37 in only 27 minutes - in leading Gtown to a 106-68 win.
Never one to miss a nearby road game, OldHoya will be making the trip north on the 95. Nothing will make the 2.5 hour commute back south more pleasing than hearing a deafening silence as the Hoyas demolish the Wildcats.
View from the Sportsbook (via DonBest) - A Perspective from Vegas:
Villanova -6. O/U 144.
I'm worried sick about how the Hoyas are going to handle Nova's press after that disastrous 2nd-half performance against a much worse version that Seton Hall threw at them.
The pick is Villanova -6, and I'm going UNDER with a final of Nova 73 - Hoyas 64.
On the season:
The Hoyas are currently 6-5 ATS (that's 'Against The Spread' for those just tuning in).
Georgetown is 2-1 ATS on the Road, 2-4 ATS at Home, and 2-0 on Neutral Courts.
Casual Hoya is 7-4 ATS.
