April 15th marks the beginning of the Regular Signing Period for Division 1 College Basketball programs. The period lasts five weeks and ends on May 20. This is the second signing period for players entering school for the 2009-2010 academic year, the first was between November 12 and November 19. Over the next two weeks, we will take a look at the current recruiting classes as they stand today, before the second signing period commences.
It is important to note that while these lists will not represent the final incoming class for each program, it will contain the majority of top players that have committed to the program. Of the 150 players listed as the top recruits in the country (per Rivals rankings), only 11 have not at least given a verbal confirmation to a program.
However, given the coaching carousel that is about to begin post the firing of Billy Gillispie, lots of players that committed to programs will be able to re-open their recruitments.
We'll start from the top of the league down to the bottom (Georgetown is near the bottom for those that have already erased this dismal season from their memories).
Good talk.
