D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, a 6'3'', 215lb guard from the Class of 2012 is set to visit the Hilltop this weekend, according to The Recruit Scoop. Rivera hails from Indianapolis, IN and is ranked as the 25th best player and 3rd best point guard in the Class of 2012, according to Rivals.

Adam Zagoria is reporting that Georgetown has offered a scholarship to Ryan Arcidiacono, a point guard from Langhorne, PA. Arcidiacono, listed at 6'4'', 180lb, is ranked as the 45th best player and 7th best guard in the Class of 2012 by Rivals.

I know many of you determine the official start of Friday by the unveiling of a new entry in the Casual Summer Headband Series, the contest that is taking over the globe. Unfortunately loyal readers, we have misled you, as today is merely Thursday. This vile deception is due to our efforts to fill out the Casual Headband Sweet Sixteen bracket before Labor Day, and in order to do so, we are forced to post two headband entries in two consecutive days. So get ready for a double whammy of fun, excitement and envy as we take you on a trip around the world, casual style.
Versailles, home of the Sun King, Louis XIV - the most casual king ever, I think
The Palace of Versailles (pronounced [vɛːʁ'saj], "vair-sigh"), or simply Versailles, is a royal château in Versailles, the Île-de-France region of France. In French, it is known as the Château de Versailles.
When the château was built, Versailles was a country village; today, however, it is a suburb of Paris, some twenty kilometres southwest of the French capital. The court of Versailles was the centre of political power in France from 1682, when Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in October 1789 after the beginning of the French Revolution. Versailles is therefore famous not only as a building, but as a symbol of the system of absolute monarchy of the Ancien Régime.

Sam Thompson Set to Visit, Myles Davis Still Lists Hoyas

Sam Thompson, a 6'6'' wing out of Chicago, said he plans to visit Georgetown the weekend of September 18th. He also states that Georgetown has now officially offered a scholarship.
There was some confusion as to whether George Mason or Georgetown was the school on Myles Davis' final list, turns out, it's both. They join UVA, Pitt, Villanova and St. Joe's. Still is unclear whether or not he will stay in the 2011 class or reclassify to 2012.

DeMathaHoops Mikael Hopkins will announce his College decision on Monday, November 1st.
Ron over at HoyaReport seems to think we have a decent shot with the Class of 2011 big man. Visited unofficially this past week. Biggest concern would be that Kansas makes a push for him.
People have questioned his toughness or assertiveness, but the kid is very skilled and has a solid frame. I wouldn't mind having him..in particular if it helps with Robinson and Grant from Dematha the following year.

He is looking at four different schools in four very different regions and conferences. He also discusses why he dropped UConn from his list, and clears up the vague tweet about Huskies "losing" scholarships.
