Rock Chalk Roadtrip! Hoyas and Kansas Set for December 21, 2013

Ed Zurga

As we first learned back in October, Georgetown will commence a new series next season against one of the traditional powerhouses in college basketball, the Kansas Jayhawks. Today, we learned that the Hoyas will travel to Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday, December 21st.

The series between the two storied programs will head to the Verizon Center in 2014, Allen in 2015, and conclude at Verizon in 2016.

From the Kansas Athletics site:

--Traditional power Georgetown (Dec. 21 in Lawrence) won a share of the 2012-13 Big EAST Conference regular-season title going 25-7 overall and 14-4 in league play. The conference title was the third for head coach John Thompson III. The KU-Georgetown series is tied at 1-1, with Georgetown winning, 70-57, in the 1987 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in Louisville, Ky., and Kansas edging GU, 67-63, in the opening round of the 2011 Maui Invitational.

See you in Lawrence, everybody!
