Peanut Gallery: Colgate v. Georgetown

What some Hoyas are thinkin' about the Hoyas.

Colgate. Relax.

After watching this video on repeat for the past half hour, two questions keep repeating in my head. 1) How did the line "I'm not a nice person" make it into the rap? Its not as if anyone who listens to DMX confused him with Mr. Rogers and 2) Why hasn't DMX become PETA's enemy number one? Those dogs look like they belonged to Michael Vick.

Anyway, the man can rap. Get pumped up for this game and long may the win streak continue.

The high of watching Georgetown put up 80 points last night has been erased by the low seeing the United States screwed by the World Cup draw that somehow has us facing the Germans, Ghana (again!), and Cristiano Ronaldo. This two games in three days blog DJ feature is taking a toll, too.

Sports got me so I don't know what I'm doing:

Since this format was popular last season, I'm bringing it back:

GOOD NEWS: We've got ourselves a nice little 4-game winning streak going here
BAD NEWS: VCU is not looking nearly as good as they were originally thought to be
GOOD NEWS: Defense looked really good against High Point
BAD NEWS: Offense still showed it has the propensity to stagnate
GOOD NEWS: Classes are officially done for the semester!
BAD NEWS: I don't get to leave until December 20
GOOD NEWS: A forecast of snow for Sunday!
BAD NEWS: A forecast of snow for Sunday
GOOD NEWS: The Mariners overpaid Robinson Cano to hit on a team that offers no protection for him
BAD NEWS: He gets to play 10 games a year in the Ballpark in Arlington
GOOD NEWS: Saturday game, I don't have to worry about homework!
BAD NEWS: Noon start, I'm definitely not going to miss sleep
GOOD NEWS: I just bought some Colgate toothpaste
BAD NEWS: Not sure that Colgate's basketball team has as good of a defense against cavities as their toothpaste does
GOOD NEWS: I'm in a mood for alcohol tonight
BAD NEWS: I live in a dry dorm
GOOD NEWS: Turns out that I wasn't such a bad medical school candidate after all

Ending this one on a high note, Hoya Saxa.

Hooray, more 3 pointers! At least I have the original blog DJ to keep everything I'm perspective. Colgate. Decent school. Not nerve inducing.

Nervousness level: RELAXED

The Line: Georgetown -17

Ugh, another massive line for the Hoyas to cover. Any time you're going up against a bunch of three point gunners no lead is truly safe, including a 20 point one with a couple minutes to play. Because this is the second game in three days I'll roll with the visitors in this one, with a few late baskets earning the Raiders the cover.

The pick is Colgate +17. Final score Hoyas 74 - Raiders 58.

Casual Hoya is 5-1 ATS this season.

Overall 79-45-1.
