View from the DJ Booth - A Musical Perspective from lordnick:
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Any team that puts up so mediocre an effort with the STONES, the STONES, BABY! does not deserve to be in any basketball conference. Really nice final season for Georgetown in the Big L(East), starting off 0-2 with a home loss to a Just-For-Men-Needing Jamie Dixon. If I DJ'ed like the Hoyas shot, I would stand next to a record player and MISS THE TURNTABLE when I tried to lay some dope beats. This is so depressing.

I love the Hoyas, but I can't take much more of this. I showed up on Tuesday night after a long morning dealing with American Airlines and with class the next day and I was rewarded with the worst basketball performance I have ever seen. Right now, the best way to describe my feelings are in the words of the Dallas sports writing legend Mike Rhyner: "This team SUCKS!" Change something, change anything, but what we're doing clearly isn't working. I am so tired of Mikael. I wanted to bench Nate each of the last two years despite objection seemingly from the majority. I'm not sure anybody can really defend Mikael anymore. I know he's not Henry Sims and he's only a sophomore, but he's being ASKED to be Hank and that's just wrong. In all likelihood, I won't wake up early enough to catch much more than the last 10 minutes of the game on Saturday. However, you can be damn sure that if we're losing, I won't be turning it on at all. May God be with us all.

I am really excited about this 11 am TIP. I am also really excited that I have a ticket for the SJU/Seton Hall WOMENS game @ 1:30pm. Why would anyone think this double header is a good way to introduce anyone to the SJU women's hoop squad?!? This means that I have to catch a 9am train. I will be stopping @ CVS by the train station to buy 2 TALLS for the train ride. I also plan on stopping @ Stout to continue the process of numbing the pain that will accompany a loss to the red men. The only redeeming feature of this game is going to be the male dancer that performs with the SJU dance squad. That guy really knows how to move.
Nervous Level: Oh Shit!
View from the Sports Book - An Unbiased Perspective from Vegas:
The Line: Georgetown -1. Over/under: N/A
If this were the Big East opener for both squads the Hoyas might be as high as a 6.5 point favorite, but with Vegas now having a chance to see what Georgetown is all about against familiar Big East foes, it has put the Hoyas as a 1 point fave which basically means this game is PICK 'EM SHITSHOW OF THE HIGHEST ORDER. Last season the Hoyas went into MSG and blew out a Johnnies squad that was much better, and though the talent isn't nearly at the level on both teams on either side of the ball, I fully expect the Hoyas to play their best. If Georgetown's best is not good enough to beat St. John's, then this season is going to be longer than any of us could have expected a scant three weeks ago.
The pick is Georgetown -1. Final score: Hoyas 67 - Johnnies 59.
Casual Hoya is 7-3 ATS this season.
Overall 63-37-1.
