Get excited, everyone! Your Georgetown Hoyas will face off against the Tennessee Volunteers in the 2012 Big East-SEC Challenge at the Verizon Center on Friday, November 30th.
Though the matchup isn't as sexy as the rumored home game against Kentucky that was taken from us because Georgetown ranks last in the Verizon Center scheduling pecking order behind the Wizards/Capitals, The Jonas Brothers, the Mystics and Pokemon on Ice, the Volunteers are expected to be one of the better teams in the SEC this season and should finish in the top half of the conference. Between this home game against the Vols, the Jimmy V Classic game against Texas, and the likely home game against Syracuse, the Hoyas sure will be seeing a lot of orange this season.
In last season's Big East SEC matchup, the Hoyas defeated Alabama in Tuscaloosa in overtime on Hollis Thompson's clutch three-pointer in the final seconds.
