Good point

But as a Redskins fan I simply can’t root for the Giants. Also Coughlin went to Syracuse.

No,

The correct answer is Go Giants.

by Victor's Eyepatch on Feb 5, 2012 4:27 PM EST up reply actions

As a Redskins fan

I want the Giants to win because I feel that if they do there will be less of a chance Peyton Manning will play for the Jets next year, thus a higher chance he will pay for the Redskins. He will get hurt on the first play of the season cus we wont have an o line, but it will be fun while it lasts.

"That is crap. It is unfair."

Giants.

Otherwise I’d be disowned.

by Hoya Saxual on Feb 5, 2012 2:03 PM EST via mobile reply actions

ACC conspiracy

To make the Orange feel more at home. It’s cool, though, from what I hear it’s a stronger lacrosse conference.

by WarmupEwing on Feb 5, 2012 2:35 PM EST up reply actions

I'm actually OK with that

(1) It’s nice to have the rivalry acknowledged and included in “Rivalry Week.” Not that I love endorsing ESPN’s promotional language, but it’s probably good for visibility’s sake.
(2) Guarantees we won’t have Vitale calling the game. Hoping we get Raf.
(3) We have the 7 o’clock game, and they’re at 9. The only thing that could make beating Syracuse more enjoyable would be our game running long and UNC and Duke fans having to miss the beginning of their game.

What are these assertions!?

by DHB Enterprises on Feb 5, 2012 2:43 PM EST up reply actions

The fact that UConn vs. The Loo is the BE Big Monday matchup

Really dilutes the Rivalry Week brand. Not as much as, say, everything else ESPN has done to destroy interscholastic rivalries over the last couple of years, but still pretty bad.

by HoyaSmacksYa on Feb 5, 2012 3:00 PM EST up reply actions

I love it

In my mind they’re saying these are the two biggest intra-conference rivalries in the sport. That’s why they’re on the same night.

Pitt-Nova

This has to be the most meaningless matchup between these teams in at least five years.

What are these assertions!?

by DHB Enterprises on Feb 5, 2012 2:48 PM EST reply actions

And yet

It is another strong win for well-groomed coaching.

by WarmupEwing on Feb 5, 2012 2:50 PM EST up reply actions

indeed

But a strong finish by Pitt could put them in the tournament yet. The end of their schedule is not terribly daunting.

by thunderbus on Feb 5, 2012 2:52 PM EST up reply actions

if they win most of their games and make a decent run in the BET

correct me if i’m wrong, but wouldn’t the selection process take into account the fact that their starting PG was out with injury during that series of losses?

by Hoya Saxual on Feb 5, 2012 2:57 PM EST up reply actions

I believe it would

“Key injuries,” I think, is the metric. Which seems really subjective.

First the shot clock violation, then the flagrant.

What kind of offense is that Miami runs...

It looks like they don’t even have plays.. Like they just showed up and got handed Jerseys

Reggie Johnson is a load though.. Hopefully that’s Tyler next couple of years

Duke goes 0-6 on free throws in overtime

Loses by 4 to Miami. This is gonna be a good day.

duke sucks

watch them still be ranked in the top 10 on monday.

gets more action than the basketball players...COMBINED.

In a non ACC-biased world

They would definitely be ranked below Kansas next week. Two losses at home to unranked conference opponents does not a top 10 team make

Holy Crap

I just realized that February 8th is also the date of the next installment of The Greatest Rivalry In All of Sport. Seton Hall – Rutgers tips at 9 PM. How about that for overshadowing the Gtown-Cuse and Duke-UNC games?

Very clinical super bowl

Close game but not a great game. No big plays (unless you count the welker drop), no mistakes, no great runs or kick returns or punt blocks or big penalties.

best part madonna half time show which owned black eye peas from last year

by bunk moreland on Feb 5, 2012 10:24 PM EST reply actions

maningham catch

Was pretty big play

by hoyafan03 on Feb 5, 2012 10:54 PM EST via iPhone app up reply actions

that Welker drop was more on Brady.

really overthrew him. Brady safety, and a Brady pick did them in.

by Hoya Vey on Feb 5, 2012 11:01 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah that was

Just was hoping for a bit more sizzle – a pick 6, a trick play, a fake kick, going for it on 4th down, a return, a blocked kick, an onside kick, a decent run 20 yard run, a qb scramble, something. It was just two methodical teams playing high level 7 on 7.

Brady pick was a glorified punt and did hurt them much. He throws it away there then they punt anyways. Safety was a mistake, but given it was the first play and it was a default safety it did not feel big in the moment. I meant someone losing it and starting a fight or celebratng to early and fumbling away the score.

As neutral fan, just hoping for a bit more fun. Brady can console himself by sleeping on his piles of money with his supermodel wife who has a higher net worth than him.

Shouldn’t this blog be focused on Eli’s performance in the upcoming Double-Stuf Racing League season?
